Xavier University of Louisiana’s homecoming is coming soon to end a lit Homecoming Season.
Saturday, November 11
XULA Jam, Xavier’s Homecoming, starts on Saturday, November 11 with the Coronation Ball. Mr. and Miss Xavier are officially inducted at this formal event with performances in the school's Convocation Center.
Sunday, November 12
Sunday, there will be Gospel Fest, a jam-packed event with Gospel music from Xavier’s choir and student performances.
Monday, November 13
On Monday, there will be a #NoDestination event where party buses will take students to secret locations. The party buses will then return to Xavier for a campus party.
Tuesday, November 14
On Tuesday there will be a Movie Drive-Inn event in one of the campus’ parking lots.
Wednesday, November 15
“Post-breakup” R&B artist H.E.R will be performing on Wednesday night.
Thursday, November 16
The next with is Xavier’s annual Homecoming Boatride. This is a staple event where students dress in all black. At this annual event, students enjoy a boatride on a ferry down the river for an unforgettable night.
Friday, November 17
The next day is the Celebration on the Yard. Here actual alumni come out, mostly Greeks, to perform a yard show. It will be packed with people and good music.
That night is the XULA Block Party. It’s from 6 PM until so you know it’s a turn up!
Saturday, November 18
The parade on Saturday morning is an old tradition that is making a comeback. The Homecoming Parade will feature student organizations and school royalty showing their pride for Xavier.
At the same time, the Homecoming game tailgate will start until the Homecoming Game at 1 PM. The men’s basketball team will play against Huston-Tillotson.
This year's homecoming is highly anticipated to be one of the best yet. Spirit week will be November 6-10. Xavier is one of the last HBCUs to be closing out homecoming season, so it's only right to go out with a bang.
